My Beautiful Family

Wednesday, June 27, 2007

I am a happily married, Christian woman, with four beautiful children. I am owner of A Proverbs 31 Woman website, A Proverbs 31 Woman Wannabe blog and contributing author for Hope for the Family blog.
I came to the Lord in December 2004, after the sudden death of my mother, and a very rough patch in my marriage with my spouse, Bob. God has placed within me a desire to share the “workshops” that I have “completed” in my life, so that others might benefit from these blessings and trials. I would also like to hear your story. In trusting fellowship with one another, we can all learn to exhibit the Holy Spirit’s work within us, by mirroring the love He showed to us. I pray that your faith walk will be strengthened, as well as your emotional ties, your marriages, and your life in general.

My children are ages 14, 11 (the only boy), 5, and 2. I recently became a stay at home mom, and have learned that although I thought I knew what motherhood was all about, I’ve gotten a whole new perspective on this subject. I was a career woman until the birth of my most recent blessing. Since deciding that being a stay-at-home mom is my career, I am searching for and finding resources everywhere; and am moved to share them with you. Obviously, my first resource is my bible; because every instruction I could ever need for how to live my life and raise my children, is within those pages. I also have my friends, other mothers I know and the internet- which is how all my sites and contributions came about.
I do not profess to know it all, or to understand your exact situation. I do not hold any specialized degrees or have any formal education in ministry, so do not mistake me for a pastor. I’m just ministering in the manner that I do best, communicating. (I’d say “talking”, but well, I’m typing- and I don’t do that best.) I’m just another woman like you, holding a certificate from the “School of Hard Knocks,” as my mother used to put it.
I give all Glory to God and want to give credit to all those that have helped me to grow in my own faith walk. In so doing, they enabled me to listen, when that “still small voice” told me that I was meant for something more. (I did not actually “hear” any voices, do not misunderstand. I am not claiming prophecy.) The purpose of all the sites I am a part of is all about ministering to women like myself, whether they be wives, mothers, career women, stay at home moms, or all of the above. I pray that you will find encouragement and value in all my writings, and that the Lord will work through me to show you that you are a woman more precious than rubies. In other words, A Proverbs 31 Woman! May the Lord bless you and keep you.
In Him,
Shalene
